On 14-15 July 2017, Timothy Leighton and Frances Clarke represented NAMRIP at the third ‘all networks’ meeting, held this year at the University of Warwick.

The tradition of ‘all networks’ meeting was began by NAMRIP, who invited representatives of the other 10 UK ‘Bridging the Gap between EPS and non-EPS researchers in AMR’ EPSRC networks to Southampton in August 2015 (see here). The second such meeting was held in Sheffield on 2nd September 2016 (see here).

Whereas these first two meetings had featured only one presentation from each network and devoted the majority of the time to strategic planning on how the networks could collaborate, this latest meeting was more in the form of a traditional conference, with some networks offering multiple papers.

Professor Leighton gave an overview of NAMRIP, and highlighted the work of some particular teams, notably ‘Germ Defence’, ‘Mapping Microbes’, and the public engagement efforts on infection prevention. The conference dinner featured talks on two of Warwick’s public engagement activities, the film ‘Catch’ and the ‘Surgeon-X’ comic.
