Event details
Saturday 18th March marks the finale of the annual Southampton Science and Engineering Festival (SOTSEF) with their largest event: Science and Engineering Day. The event is free to attend and open to all.
Now in its fifteenth year, Science and Engineering Day is an award-winning, one day event hosted at the University of Southampton.
The day is a chance to explore all things within the science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) spectrum through a packed programme of events. You will find a range of hands-on activities/experiments, entertaining STEM shows to watch, informative lectures to dive in to and behind the scenes tours of some of the state of the art research facilities at the university. As many of the activities are run by University of Southampton Researchers, it is your chance to get direct experience of the subjects with the researchers who work in them.
New for 2017 is the Alumni-Zone and Soft Play Area sponsored by the Alumni Relations Team. Come along and let your little ones join in the fun in our Building Blocks Soft Play Area, open to all.
If you are a University of Southampton alumnus, stop by the Alumni-Zone and pick up some free gifts for you and your family. Situated in Lattes Cafe, this exclusive zone gives you the perfect excuse to sit down and have a chat with the team.
The day will run from 10:30 until 16:30 (with last admission at 16:00) and takes place across both Boldrewood and Highfield campuses at the University of Southampton.
