The Public Engagement with Research unit (PERu) contribute to a wide range of public engagement activities throughout the year. Here is a snippet of what to expect throughout 2026 and 2027.
- The UoS ‘Bringing Research to Life’ Roadshow
This summer 2026, we are planning to bring the UoS Roadshow to the following events: Urban Wild in the Common on Sunday 24th May, Southampton Mela Festival on Saturday 18th July, Southampton Pride on Saturday 28th August, and additional small festivals across the city of Southampton. - Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival
The University of Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival takes place this year from Thursday 5th November - Saturday 14th November featuring Arts and Humanities Day on Saturday 14th November at the Southampton Cultural Quarter. Find out more about the festival here.
- Southampton Science and Engineering Festival
The University of Southampton Science and Engineering Festival (SOTSEF) takes place every March during British Science Week, and features Science and Engineering Day at Highfield and Boldrewood Campus. Dates for the 2027 edition will be announced later in the year. Find out more about SOTSEF here.
- British Science Festival
The University of Southampton is hosting the British Science Festival this September 2026, taking place from 16th - 20th September across the city of Southampton. Find out more about BSF26 on the official website here.
- Public Engagement Network and Future Cities PCE Hub Networking Lunch
Free lunch, open networking, and talks on citizen-led city design with the Public Engagement Network and Future Cities PCE Hub. Join us for the last PEN (Public Engagement Network) event of the academic year for which we are excited to be collaborating with the Future Cities PCE (Public and Community Engagement) Hub!
