Catherine Koranchie

Catherine Koranchie is a third-year PhD candidate at the University of Southampton Business School. Her research examines the legitimation of social enterprises across multi-level contexts, focusing on how organisations navigate local resource constraints while engaging with international stakeholders. Using empirical evidence from Ghana, her work seeks to inform and support the development and implementation of policies that foster an enabling environment for the social enterprise sector in Ghana.

Her research interests are rooted in her master's degree in Social Business and Microfinance from Glasgow Caledonian University, which sparked her interest in social entrepreneurship and impact-oriented enterprises. Catherine is a member of the Africa Evidence Network, where she aims to contribute to evidence-informed decision-making across the African continent. She is particularly interested in strengthening her capacity to translate academic research into practical, policy-relevant outputs that support inclusive and sustainable societal development.
