Nicole is currently a second year SSPC PhD student funded by the ESRC SCDTP (South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership). Her research interests include, the prevention of child sexual abuse, violence against women and girls and domestic abuse, through educational approaches to prevention. She hopes to increase public awareness of these issues which are usually hidden behind stigma and shame surrounding their discussion.

Nicole's PhD research explores the prevention of Intra-Familial Child Sexual Abuse (IFCSA) and considers how education targeting children can be utilised to increase awareness and reporting of IFCSA. She considers the current approaches to relationships and sexual education in Schools in England, and how sensitive topics such as abuse prevention and awareness can be implemented at a young age.
