2013 Colloquium Takes Place in Southampton

On the 4th and 5th of October the IML has hosted the prestigious OST Colloquium on Maritime Law Research, at the White Horse Hotel in Romsey. The theme of this highly respected round table of experts was "Third Parties' Rights and Bills of Lading". Fourteen speakers from the universities of Oslo and Tulane have joined the hosts with thought provoking papers on the many aspects of rights and liabilities arising out of the circulation of bills of lading and multimodal transport documents.

Future Colloquia will be run annually and will be hosted in turn by the Universities of Southampton, Tulane and Oslo. The next Colloquium will be on the theme of; "Intermediaries in Shipping" and will be hosted in October 2014 by the Tulane Maritime Law Centre in New Orleans.
