Deep-sea observation and operating equipment are the key to deep-sea exploration.

This presentation will introduce deep-sea observations and operation equipment which have been developed in Zhejiang University.  Some new ideas for developing deep-sea equipment will also be discussed.

Speaker information

Professor Canjun Yang, Zhejiang University. Dr Yang received his BS and SM degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronauticso in 1991 and 1994, respectively, and his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Zhejiang University in 1997. Since 1997, Dr Yang has been a faculty member in the State Key Lab of Fluid Power Transmission and Control at Zhejiang University. He is currently a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the Deputy Director of the Institute of Mechatronic Control Engineering in Zhejiang University. He is also the member of National Technical Committee Submersible of Standardization in China. His research interests cover man-machine intelligent mechatronic system, mechatronic devices and technology for deep-sea exploitation.
