Event details

Consistent truncations of supergravity via exceptional field theory

The consistent Kaluza-Klein truncation of higher-dimensional (super-)gravity to lower-dimensional theories is an important and in general surprisingly difficult challenge with many open problems dating from the 1980s. Recently, the duality symmetric formulations of supergravity theories have proven to be a very powerful tool to address and construct such consistent truncations within generalised and exceptional geometry.
