Title: The Maxwell equations on the full Kerr black hole family
Abstract: In the study of the linearized Einstein vacuum equations around black holes, the Maxwell equations are often thought of as a first toy problem. In this talk, I discuss a forthcoming analysis, joint with Gabriele Benomio (GSSI), of the Maxwell equations on Kerr black holes. Our results for the full subextremal |a|<M family are unconditional, in view of earlier joint work with Yakov Shlapentokh-Rothman. For extremal |a|=M Kerr, they conditional on a conjecture for the spin ±1 Teukolsky equations motivated by work of Gajic and Casals—Gralla—Zimmerman.
