WSA Programme Leader for the Games Design and Art degree, Adam Procter, has been featured in The Guardian newspaper this week, on an article about Games Addiction, following the WHO classifying gaming disorder as a mental health condition.

The article focuses on the nature of the problem, and one centre near Guildford which is providing a theraputic response.

Adam comments that one feature of successful games are their ability to draw the player in, but that 'game makers “should be aware that the product they’re making will have an impact on players”, and that “there will always be a responsibility for makers to consider their impact on the world”.' (Guardian, 18/06/18)

This is obviously a serious issue, and one which needs to be addressed by the makers of games as they craft their products.
