9th International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Université Laval - Québec City, Canada, June 7-10, 2006

The Program Committee of the 9th International Symposium on Electronic
Theses and Dissertations, ETD 2006, invites you to submit your proposals
for papers and posters.

ETD is the key international conference to attend in order to stay
abreast of developments and trends in electronic theses and dissertations
initiatives around the world. Plan to attend this important conference
and consider submitting a proposal to present a paper exploring one of
the themes of the symposium. This is an exciting opportunity to share
your knowledge and experience with the larger ETD community. The 9th
symposium will be held in Quebec City, Canada, June 7-10, 2006.

Under the theme "Unlocking Scholarly Access: ETDs, Institutional
Repositories and Creators", the 9th ETD symposium will explore relations
between ETDs and Open Access. We invite you to submit proposals that
address the following or related sub-themes:

* Open Access

* Open Source

* Intellectual property, e.g. issues to consider with respect to
copyright, other potential legal options such as Creative Commons, how
your institution deals with copyright and ETDs

* Institutional repositories and ETDs, e.g. what role ETDs play in
repositories, can institutional repositories influence the development
of  ETDs; your institutional experience implementing an institutional
repository for ETDs

* Technical and normative issues related to ETD implementation

Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes. Abstracts of approximately
200 words should be submitted by February 13, 2006. All contributions
must be written in English or French.

The abstract must be submitted electronically. To submit an abstract,
please visit the conference website at:
