Revisit Southampton

In 2022, the University of Southampton will celebrate 70 remarkable years of university status and we are thrilled to invite you to join us on Highfield Campus, to reconnect with your alma mater where it all began.

To mark this special occasion, we are holding a celebratory event for our wonderful alumni & supporters on Saturday 14 May 2022.

Join your fellow alumni and reunite with friends, explore campus, hear from our world-leading academics, and see and hear where the University is now. We are also pleased to announce that alumnus and former BBC North America Editor, Jon Sopel, will be joining us for a special guest talk and Q&A during the day. We are delighted to be able to celebrate our history with you, and all those who were part of it.

Can’t make it back to campus? Friends spread across the world? That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on reminiscing. Why not get together with your old university friend and hold a virtual get-together?

You can even use Replay to spice up your event and get the memories flowing! We’ve put together an album of iconic campus images for you to set as your video background, and if you’re needing some inspiration for topics of conversation, we’ve got you covered, with our nostalgic decade-by-decade Replay playlists. Each one features the top ten songs of the era, all submitted by your contemporaries. Why not host a listening party together?

5 steps to holding your reunion

Organising your own virtual reunion doesn’t have to be hard. Here are our 5 simple steps to holding your own reunion:

  1. Pick a date and time to have your reunion.
  2. Set up a video call on the platform of your choice.
  3. Invite your university friends – make sure you send them the unique URL to your video chat.
  4. Download some of our backgrounds to add a bit of nostalgia to your call.
  5. Log on, reminisce with your friends by taking a trip down memory lane, and enjoy your virtual reunion!

Head over to our Spotify account to listen to your very own decade playlist. These tracks are a great place to start your reminiscing.
