Kai Wen awarded the Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr Kai Wen, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at IROE working on the Working on the UKRI Robocone project, has been recently granted the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA2024) individual fellowship with a perfect total score of 100%.

This 24-month fellowship offers an invaluable opportunity for Dr Kai Wen to move to Delft University of Technology, continuing his research on the sustainable and intelligent installation of anchor piles for offshore floating wind. The project aims to enhance the anchor installation efficiency and significantly drive down the levelized cost of electricity derived from offshore renewable energy – a key step in promoting cleaner and more affordable energy solutions.

MSCA Fellowships, funded by European Commission, support early-career researchers who relocate within Europe to explore cutting-edge ideas and develop instrumental skills that can boost their career prospects. It usually has low acceptance rates (around 15%) reflects the program’s high standards and competitiveness. Kai’s success highlights his excellent academic achievements and the fellowship’s commitment to advancing innovative research in offshore sustainable energy.
