IROE researchers participate in ICSMGE conference in Vienna
Researchers from the University of Southampton presented their work and connected with colleagues from around the world at one of the leading international events in geotechnical engineering.
Abigail Bateman, Jamie Crispin and Benjamin Cerfontaine attended the International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering ( ICSMGE ) in Vienna, joining researchers and industry professionals from across the globe for a week of technical presentations and networking opportunities.
A particular highlight was Tuesday's offshore sessions, where Benjamin presented his work on push in pile clusters.
Abigail also presented a poster showcasing Ryan Sabzevari 's MEng work, which explored the use of the similarity method for predicting strip footing settlement.
Alongside the technical programme, it was good to catch up with many colleagues and meet new people working in geotechnical engineering, with lots of discussion about Robocone !
