Event details
Public Policy|Southampton is pleased to introduce its new series of policy-focused training sessions for 2020/21 designed to support researchers at the University of Southampton and increase the impact of current research. This interactive session, developed and delivered by Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute (SMMI) policy research fellow Dr Wassim Dbouk and supplemented by practical insights from Constantinos Regas, former adviser to House of Commons select committees, is designed for researchers with an interest in engaging with the UK Parliament and in being involved in the process of evidence-informed policymaking. The objective of the session is to familiarise academic experts with the particularities of submitting evidence in response to parliamentary inquiries. This aims to allow academics to refine their “usual” ways of engagement (publishing written material, presenting papers in conferences, etc.) in order to meet the needs of parliamentarians.
