Across the Studios of Painting, Printmaking, and Sculpture, second and third year Fine Art students present a dynamic selection of work drawn from their current studio practice.

At Winchester School of Art, Fine Art students have frequent opportunities throughout the academic year to exhibit their work. The December Salon Shows are vibrant pop-up exhibitions that mark the end of term with collective energy, where emerging artists share works-in-progress, test ideas in public, and celebrate experimentation. Spanning a wide range of materials, processes, and approaches, the exhibitions offer a snapshot of ideas and practices in development.

Installed in the course of a single, fast-paced day, studios are quickly transformed into exhibition spaces. The fast turnaround encourages decisive thinking, adaptability, and exploratory approaches to display. Once installed, the shows are toured by students and staff, fostering conversation, reflection, and exchange, before the day concludes with a festive gathering that brings the community together to celebrate the work and the term’s achievements.
