The fourth lecture of the University of Southamptons Health and Healthcare series will take place today, Wednesday 5 October,   at the Wellcome Collection in London from   17:15 .

The event will focus on cancer research and patient aftercare and include guest speakers from across the UK who are leaders in their field.  The University will talk in particular about its pioneering research in cancer immunology and the success resulting from its clinical trials.

The lecture will include keynotes from:

  • Professor Peter Johnson , CBE, Professor of Medical Oncology within Medicine at the University of Southampton and Chief Clinician for Cancer Research UK.
  • Professor Sir Bruce Ponder , Emeritus Professor of Oncology at the University of Cambridge and former director of the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute.
  • Professor Gillies McKenna , Professor of Radiation Oncology and Biology, University of Oxford.

The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by Professor Tim Elliott , Professor of Experimental Oncology at the University of Southampton. Professor Elliott will be joined by Charlotte Moss , Clinical trial patient and Professor Theresa Wiseman , Clinical Professor of Applied Health Research in Cancer Care, University of Southampton.
