On November 3rd 2016, we were delighted to welcome some of our largest donors to an exclusive hard hat tour of the new Centre for Cancer Immunology. Now the building has reached its tallest level, work is concentrating on fitting out the state-of-the-art interior, with a top down approach

The group was welcomed by the University of Southamptons Tim Elliott, Professor for Experimental Medicine and Director of the new Centre for Cancer Immunology. Professor Elliott thanked the group for their invaluable contributions and spoke of the impact the new Centre will make on saving lives.
Our new Centre will allow us to build on our expertise, expand our research teams and increase patient clinical trials it will make a huge impact on the development of life-saving cancer treatments.

After the welcome speeches, our guests, including our Gold and Platinum level donors, donned hard hats, steel capped boots and hi-vis jackets for the tour of the life-changing building, led by Richard Barot, Senior Project Manager for Kier Construction.

The tour even included a walk on the roof top of the new Centre, giving a sense of scale to the project, and the difference the new Centre will make.

Here, you can see the whole group gathered on level 3, where our cutting-edge laboratories will conduct pioneering research into harnessing the immune system to cure cancer.
