Leading antibody researchers at the University of Southampton, under the direction of Professor Mark Cragg, Professor of Experimental Cancer Research and Director of the Cancer Pathway Integrated Postgraduate Programme, today announce a three-year research collaboration with BioInvent International (OMXS: BINV).
Thursday 28th May saw the Southampton launch of the University of Southampton’s Campaign for the Centre for Cancer Immunology. The event went extremely well and included a special lecture from Professor Peter Johnson and a panel discussion. It was great to see such tremendous support for the campaign.

Following promising pre-clinical trials at the University of Southampton, Biolnvent’s B1-1206 (a new fully-human antibody) is to enter a collaborative phase I/II for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and non Hodgkin lymphoma.
Scientists at the University of Southampton have found that the precise shape of an antibody makes a big difference to how it can stimulate the body’s immune system to fight cancer, paving the way for much more effective treatments.
