Working with us

The University of Southampton is one of the leading entrepreneurial universities worldwide, with an impressive track record as a partner to business and the public sector for problem solving and as a source of invention and innovation.

Southampton was recognised in the top three worldwide for the quality of our spin out companies. An independent report by the Library House drew favourable comparisons between the Universities of Southampton, Stanford in the United States and Cambridge.

Twelve successful companies have been spun out from Southampton since 2000, four of which have floated on London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM) with a combined market capitalisation value of approximately £180 million.

We are currently engaged with businesses in a huge range of collaborative research and consultancy. These contracts have been worth £35 million in the past year, and have been built on substantial, long-term relationships in many cases.

We have launched 12 spin-out companies since 2000.
