On Friday 11th July, Geography and the Environment held a one-day open house event for staff, students and public alike in celebration of 100 years of Geography at the University of Southampton. Throughout the day there was a Research Showcase where visitors could learn more about the exciting research and work we are doing that is having an impact all over the globe. There were several activities running including demonstrations and displays of our geographical equipment and laboratories. Speeches were made by Professor Neil Wrigley (From Shipping to Shopping: Take 2) and Professor Keith Barber (Soggy Geography: peat bogs and climate change).
