The latest rankings highlight Southampton’s substantial contribution to global research, with 425 affiliated researchers listed—representing 0.2% of the global total. Among the 19,647 UK researchers included, Southampton accounts for 2.2%, highlighting its prominence in academic research.

Notably, four researchers from Southampton are ranked among the top 1000 globally, including Philip Calder, Stephen Holgate, and Cyrus Cooper from the Faculty of Medicine.
