Professor Dame Wendy Hall announced as keynote speaker at India AI Impact Summit 2026
The Web Science Institute is pleased to announce that Professor Dame Wendy Hall, Regius Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Institute, has been confirmed as a keynote speaker on 18th February at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, to be held in New Delhi from 16–20th February 2026.
The India AI Impact Summit is a major international convening focused on the societal, economic and governance implications of artificial intelligence, bringing together global leaders from government, industry, academia and civil society. Hosted by the Government of India, the Summit aims to advance inclusive, responsible and impact-driven approaches to AI development, with a strong emphasis on global cooperation and perspectives from the Global South.
Dame Wendy will deliver her keynote alongside leading figures in artificial intelligence, including Demis Hassabis, Nobel Laureate and CEO and Co-Founder of Google DeepMind, and Professor Fei-Fei Li, Co-Director of Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute. Together, the keynote speakers represent the forefront of research, innovation and policy thinking shaping the future of AI globally.
A leading authority on artificial intelligence, data governance and the future of the web, Dame Wendy has played a central role in shaping international debates on responsible AI, including as Co-Chair of the UK Government’s AI Review, on the UN AI Advisory Board (2023-2024) and as a long-standing advocate for human-centred, trustworthy technologies.
Her participation underscores the Web Science Institute’s continued commitment to interdisciplinary research and global engagement on the challenges and opportunities posed by emerging technologies.
