University of Southampton rises to 16 in The Complete University Guide
The University has been ranked once again in the top 20 of all UK universities by The Complete University Guide.
Southampton has climbed four positions and is 16th out of 123 universities in the 2015 ranking.
There are 37 subject areas in the Guide and Southampton is placed as top 20 in 24 of them, with 12 subjects where the University is top 10:
- Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering 4
- Aural & Oral Sciences 7
- Civil Engineering 4
- Communication & Media Studies 9
- Electrical & Electronic Engineering 3
- French 10
- General Engineering 9
- Geology 10
- Iberian Languages 7
- Marketing 9
- Mechanical Engineering 9
- Nursing 3
All of the engineering subjects continue to appear in the top 10 for the consecutive year and the greatest improvement in position is from Mathematics which has moved into the top 20 at 16.
League tables focus on common aspects of all of the country’s universities and we’re pleased that key areas such as investment in the student experience have been highlighted and placed us amongst the UK’s leaders by The Complete University Guide. As a comprehensive university, with a wide range of subject areas, we are delighted to see that Southampton is placed in the top 20 for 24 of these subjects, as well as being placed 16th overall.
Our position in this ranking is a great achievement, but we are not complacent and continue to strive to provide the very best education and student experience at Southampton. We will be increasing our effort to improve upon our position and the world class experience that can be expected from one of the world’s leading universities.
