Visits and open days

Visiting the University is a great opportunity to see the campus and find out what it’s really like to live and study here. You'll be able to see our state-of-the-art student facilities, including the Hartley Library, Jubilee Sports Centre, Students’ Union and a hall of residence.

There are a number of ways to visit the University, including undergraduate open days, campus tours, UCAS and Higher Education fairs and self-guided walking tours.

Go to the University's Visits and open days page for full details of visit opportunities including open day dates and booking information. You can also join the campus tour in our YouTube video below to find out more about the campus, facilities and accommodation on offer if you study at the University of Southampton.

Visit days

If you receive an offer of a place, you will be invited to attend a visit day. These usually take place on selected Wednesdays during February and March during term-time and involve a tour of the campus by student guides, talks on the degree programmes and the University, and a chance to meet the academic staff.

Open days

If you would like to visit the University before completing your UCAS form, we run University-wide open days during the summer. These normally take place in July and September each year and provide an opportunity to see all the facilities that we offer.

Independent visits

If you are unable to attend an open day or visit day, you are welcome to visit us in your own time. Please contact the Admissions Team in advance for an appointment: popgeog@southampton.ac.uk; tel +44 (0)23 8059 2511.
