The lymphatic system absorbs interstitial fluid and transports it back to the blood stream maintaining tissue fluid homeostasis. Our project aims to increase our understanding of how the lymph flows through the secondary lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes.

Project Overview

The lymphatic system performs three main roles: to return interstitial fluid back into the blood stream, to transport fat from the intestines and to act as a defence against foreign materials. This project aims to create three dimensional fluid structure interaction models of the secondary lymphatic valves and lymph nodes.
