Teaching informed by world-class research

In Humanities excellence in research goes hand in hand with excellence in teaching

With over 1,500 students, Humanities' undergraduate community brings together seven creative and distinct disciplines.

Many of our academic staff are active researchers. This means that you will be taught by staff who are working at the cutting edge of their discipline and who are eager to share their enthusiasm and ideas with you.

Our friendly, informal atmosphere allows our students to feel free to come and ask for advice and guidance. Throughout your studies, you will remain in close contact with your personal tutor, who can always be turned to for help and advice about academic and non academic matters.

You can also visit the individual discipline sites to discover more about undergraduate studies: Archaeology, English, Film, History, Modern Languages, Music and Philosophy.
