About
Dr Emma Teasdale is a Research Psychologist and Qualitative Research Fellow in Primary Care within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton.
Her research involves conducting qualitative and mixed methods studies to explore people’s behaviour in response to health threats and chronic illness and developing and evaluating online behavioural interventions that promote health and well-being within a primary care context. She completed her PhD in 2015 on understanding behavioural responses to acute respiratory infections. Her work used qualitative research methods to explore public perceptions of non-pharmaceutical interventions that aim to reduce the transmission of acute respiratory infections in both pandemic and non-pandemic contexts. Her work since has involved carrying out qualitative and mixed methods research in eczema, irritable bowel syndrome, cellulitis, asthma, chronic kidney disease and vitiligo.
She is currently working on the TIP Trial and the ATLANTIS Trial, conducting qualitative and mixed methods studies to inform the evaluation of these trials.
