Summary
Dr Derek Keir is Associate Professor in Earth Science within Ocean and Earth Science at the University of Southampton. Over the last decade he has led passive seismology efforts in the Geology and Geophysics research group, and also uses remote sensing, geochemistry, and field geology to study earthquakes and volcanoes in various settings on Earth. Most of his research is on Africa, Arabia, the Caribbean, and Italy. He is Chief Editor of the Structural Geology and Tectonics section of Frontiers in Earth Science.
