About
I am an Associate Professor in Marketing Research with a specialism in Analytics / Statistics at the Southampton Business School. I teach a wide range of applied analytical / statistical courses.
My ideas have been published in many of the top journals in the field of business and statistics including: Journal of Retailing, Harvard Business Review (HBR), Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Plos One, and more. I am a co-author of two Routledge anthologies and have experience of chairing conferences (BAM, ICMC) and editing special issues in top journals (IMM, JSM). I am an Associate Editor of the Journal of Strategic Marketing and sit on the editorial board of journals.
I have a track record of engaging closely with industry and have consulted for a plethora of multinational organisations. White papers have been presented at Government level at Whitehall and I am a founder and collaborator of the annual report on the "State of Martech" in collaboration with renowned martech and analytics company - Clevertouch Marketing.
I have previously held the School level post of Research Centre Director (Centre for Marketing Research), Director of Internationalisation and Faculty level post of Associate Dean (International).
My passion is truly teaching and students and I have won many teaching awards, including the 2020 SUSU Most Engaging Lecturer Award and the Pastoral Award (2021)

Biography
Rob was a market researcher by training, specialising in quantitative methods and analytics and has worked on long term projects in China and the US. He ran his own research agency in the UK for over a decade.
Rob has previously held appointments at University of Plymouth, Cardiff University and visits Audencia Business School in France.
