Vinita Mithani is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with twenty years’ experience at senior levels in accountancy practice and industry, and several years’ experience as module leader and lecturer at undergraduate level. She has published opinion articles on auditor independence in the online magazine of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England, and Wales (ICAEW). She has also given oral and written evidence and acted as advisor to the Business Parliamentary Select Committee on its future of audit inquiry. She has also recently authored a chapter in Elgar’s upcoming corporate governance research handbook, providing a comprehensive roadmap for research on non-executive directors. She is currently conducting doctoral research on auditor independence and competence.
