Current research
Jian’s current research focuses on two themes: The first is on theoretical and empirical studies of firm heterogeneity in productivity, product and labour market powers. It extends the Solow residual approach to firm level multiple factor productivity (MFP), taking into account imperfect competition in both product and labour markets, as well as strategic interaction between competing firms. This novel approach allows joint estimation of firm level productivity, and pricing powers in both product and labour markets.
