Welcome to the website of the premier international conference on language in society. In 2010, SS18 was hosted by the University of Southampton, located in the beautiful county of Hampshire on the south coast of England.
The conference organisers would like to thank everyone who attended for making this a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The range and quality of papers was superlative, and the camaraderie, support and general bonhomie amongst the delegates second to none. We look forward to seeing you again at the Sociolinguistics Symposium 19 in Berlin, if not before!
