Information for Current Students
Applying for Accommodation for 2011/2012
Staying in Halls
The Accommodation Service will be accepting applications from Current Students to live in the Halls of Residence for next academic year - 2011/12.
The application form will be live on Monday 31st January 2011, and will close on Friday 25th February 2011.
You must apply before the deadline of 25th February 2011 in order to be considered.
Making an Application
You will need to apply online at www.onlineaccommodation.soton.ac.uk before 25th February 2011.
You may already have set up an account on this site if you applied for accommodation for a previous year. If you have forgotten your password, please click the "forgotten password" link to obtain a new password. If you have forgotten your username (which will be an email address, but not particularly your University of Southampton email address) please select the "re-register" option.
Are current students guaranteed accommodation?
If you are a non-EU International student we guarantee you an offer of a place in hall for the duration of your study. In order for this guarantee to be valid, you must make an application for accommodation by the deadline of Friday 25th February.
Accommodation for other current students (UK and EU) cannot be guaranteed, and due to the popularity of halls accommodation, we must advise you that current UK and EU students are unlikely to receive an offer of accommodation in halls, but you are welcome to apply. We hope to notify you of the outcome of your application in April 2011.
We would therefore strongly advise that current students who are UK or EU for fees purposes in hall take full advantage of the services offered by the Accommodation Service and the Students' Union in assisting students find accommodation in the private sector. We will also be releasing the lists of properties available in the private sector through the SASSH scheme; this will be published on the website www.sassh.co.uk in January 2011. Please see the private rented section of our website for further information.
