How can you pay?
When you accept your offer of accommodation you will need to set up either a Direct Debit or Recurring Card Payment to cover your residence fees. These plans will ensure that each instalment of your residence fees is taken from your bank account or credit/debit card on the due dates. Please remember that it is your responsiblity to ensure these payments can be made, even if your parents are paying the money. You should check after the due date to make sure the payment has been taken. If there appears to be a problem, please contact the Student Services Centre at ssc@soton.ac.uk, by telephone on 023 8059 9599, or in person at the Highfield campus.
If necessary, you can pay by cheque or credit/debit card at the Student Services Centre, either in person or by post/telephone. While payments can be made in cash at the Income Office in Building 37 during office hours, we would discourage this. You should avoid carrying large amounts of cash with you if at all possible!
What if you can't pay?
If you think you may not be able to pay your residence fees, you should contact the Student Services Centre as soon as possible. If you need help with your finances you should contact the Student Financial Support Service. They can give you help and advice on money matters and will be able to advise you on any bursaries, grants or loans that might be available to you.
Financial Information and Assistance can be contacted through the Student Services Centre, by email at stufunds@soton.ac.uk or by telephone on 023 8059 3287. For more information, please see http://www.southampton.ac.uk/sais/sfo/index.shtml.
