About Our Halls
With 20 Halls of Residence, a guarantee of an offer of a place in Halls in your first year and top-class facilities, it's no wonder that our accommodation is popular!
We hope you will enjoy living and studying at the University of Southampton. The University Residences provide a friendly, caring environment, where students learn from others with different outlooks and experiences, pursue cultural and sporting interests, and generally relax and enjoy themselves. Each Residence accommodates students from all Faculties and from many parts of the globe, making it easy to broaden your range of friends and contacts.
Hall life is a central part of the university experience and we seek to provide safe, secure, well-appointed and professionally managed accommodation. All study bedrooms have their own telephones with voice mail, and either have network connection points to the University computer system or provision to connect your own modem. All Halls have a variety of common rooms and various facilities, which may include a library, music room, TV and games rooms and a computer room. Some Halls have sports facilities, all have launderettes and many have bars and other social facilities.
The University has its own bus service, the award-winning Uni-link, which provides reliable transport between all the University´s Southampton based teaching sites as well as Halls of Residence, the city centre and sports and leisure complexes.
We do appreciate that you may want to have a flavour of our halls, and that you may not be able to visit Southampton.
