Focusing on the link between the financial sector and economic growth
The Centre for Banking, Finance and Sustainable Development focuses on the link between the financial sector, and here in particular the banking system, and economic growth and development. The latter is interpreted in the broadest possible way, including and increasingly focusing on the sustainability aspect of both banking and development.
The Centre operates in an interdisciplinary fashion. Members hail not only from the Finance Group at the School of Management, but also the Economics Division in the School of Social Sciences, and it is open to any other discipline.
The Centre for Banking, Finance and Sustainable Development and the Money, Macro, Finance Research Group hosted the 2nd European Conference on Banking and the Economy (ECOBATE 2013) on 6 March 2013 in the Guildhall, Winchester, UK. Find out more at ECOBATE 2013.
