MUSI2015 Studio Techniques 1

In this module students will gain practical experience of studio equipment (microphones, synthesizers, effects processors, hard disk recording) either in groups or individually. Manufacturers’ technical manuals are supplemented with and explained in handouts. Much of the course requires students to work in pairs or small groups.

One two-hour lecture-demonstration per week, with small group tutorials in relevant weeks.

Assessment methods

  • One basic multitrack recording project (25%)
  • One Intermediate recording project (25%)
  • One acoustic and electronic, recording and production project (50%).
