MUSI3003 Commerical Composition

Students in this module are introduced to a series of techniques that can be applied to a wide range of commercial musics in lectures in the first semester. In the second semester students work closely with course tutor to in one-to-one tutorials to develop a portfolio of original work.

Teaching and learning methods

Six two-hour introductory lectures, followed by weekly individual tutorials.

Assessment methods

  • A series of short assignments and phantom commissions
  • A portfolio of original compositions totaling between 20 and 40 minutes, submitted either in full score or as a master quality recording and an accompanying commentary.
