Professor of Banking and Finance. I joined the Southampton Management School in 1994. Prior to becoming an academic I worked in industry for a number of years. Currently I am an Associate Advisor to the British Council. I am the programme director for the MSc International Banking and Financial Studies degree. My teaching interests lie in the areas of international banking, corporate finance and portfolio theory.

My research interests include asset-backed securitisation, financial regulations, financial stability, and depositor protection systems.
Work in progress
I am currently working on the wealth effects of asset-backed securitisation and in a seperate project I am researching how bank market structure and competition impact SME financing relationships in two key European regions.
