Research Interests

My research interests are in the area of the application of Bayesian modelling and inference to insurance claims data, model fitting together with Bayesian variable selection using MCMC methodology and the stochastic modelling of mortality and morbidity rates, in particular Critical Illness Insurance diagnosis inception rates. Producing Critical Illness diagnosis inception rates based on a stochastic model is of key relevance to the UK Actuarial Profession's Continuous Mortality Investigation (CMI). Therefore my work involves collaboration with the CMI’s Critical Illness Committee.

Research Project

Incorporating model and parameter uncertainty in rate graduation and pricing for Critical Illness Insurance, pump-priming research grant, funded by the UK Actuarial Profession, 2012-2013.
