What we do
The Wessex Institute provides high-quality, practice-based research to support decision makers in health and healthcare. We have particular expertise in added-value health research management and in health technology assessment.
The Wessex Institute is a multidisciplinary and collaborative group of researchers, academics, clinicians, managers (many with a scientific background) and others.
We offer a broad range of scientific expertise in health research and research management. Our team also includes specialists in information management, finance, contracting, public and patient involvement and communications.
The Wessex institute is led by the Director, Professor Jeremy Wyatt.
The Wessex Institute is an enterprise unit within the Faculty of Medicine which hosts a number of distinct but linked centres and activities.
The Wessex Institute brings together the knowledge and experience of these individual areas of operation. We can use this wider skill-set to explore opportunities to build on our current portfolio of research and service contracts within the health research sector. For more information on how we could work together, please visit Wessex Institute Enterprise and Partnerships or contact Dr David Stevenson, Head of Business Development.
We have strong links with other parts of the Faculty of Medicine, such as Primary Care and Population Sciences, and with the wider university. We are proud of our national and international collaborations. We are keen to share expertise and to work with potential partners on new bids for funding.
