Determinants of migration to EU countries
I am an applied economist with a particular interest in migration. I am currently based at the University of Southampton where I collaborate to the QuantMig project andhave a position as a Research Fellowin Economics. Within the frame of QuantMig our research aims at offering a better understanding of the pull factors of migration to Europe. I am also affiliated to the Centre for Population Change.
Before joining the University of Southampton I was a Research and Teaching Assistant (ATER) at the University of Bordeaux, where I also collaborated at theTKC project on migration and innovation.
In 2020 I received my PhD in Methods and Models for Economic Decisions from the University of Insubria (Varese, Italy). My thesis investigates the relationship between international migration and the development of migrants' countries of origin with a particular focus on the implications of remittances and transfers of ideas.
