There is an increasing realization that risk analysis and management are more than just a way to reduce the impact of nasty surprises. Uncertainty makes the impossible, possible, and effective risk management aims to secure opportunities that uncertainty affords.
In recognition of these trends, the Centre for Risk Research has participated in standardization and guidance projects related to risk analysis and management over many years. In 2016, we produced a guide of our own, presented below. This is a guide for directors and others who oversee the development of risk management within organizations. It provides criteria and associated recommendations that allow rapid evaluation of risk management. It is designed to be practical and reliable and is illustrated with cases from our own experiences and elsewhere.
We trust you will find this guide helpful and welcome your feedback (please email the Centre Director, Professor Johnnie Johnson: email@example.com).
