Biography

Zoe returned to Southampton University in summer 2008 from a short period at the UK Department for International Development (DFID London) where she was a temporary Statistics and Maternal Health adviser to the AIDS and Reproductive Health team. While at DFID Zoe was active in monitoring and evaluation of DFID programmes and providing briefings on international reproductive, maternal and child health and AIDS. In a previous secondment to the World Health Organization (Geneva) from 2003-2005 she was the team co-ordinator for monitoring and evaluation in the Department of 'Making Pregnancy Safer'. During her time at WHO Zoe was part of the core writing team for the WHO annual flagship report, which for 2005 focussed on improving the health of mothers and children worldwide. The resulting publication - the World Health Report 2005, is titled 'Make Every Mother and Child Count'. She is now co-Director at the School of Social Science's new Research Centre on 'Global Health, Population, Poverty and Policy (GHP3)'
