Research interests

My principal research interests embrace :

  • the political economy of globalization,
  • IR theory and globalization,
  • global governance,
  • and cosmopolitan IR theory.

  • PhD Supervision : I would welcome applications  in  the general field of  global politics but more specifically in respect of : globalization,global governance,global political economy,globalization and warfare,and cosmopolitan approaches to world politics.


Work in progress

Current work in progress includes :

  • A major Ford Foundation funded project 'Global Institutional Design' which involves an exploration of new forms of global regulation and their implications for the design of more accountnable,effective,and legitimate modes of global governance.
  • An edited collection entitled Theories of Globalization.
  • An edited collection entitled Globalization,Development and Human Security.
  • An outline study of republican cosmopolitanism.
