Clinical training: Excellence
Clinical Training
Clinical Training forms an important part of both the undergraduate and postgraduate Audiology taught courses.
We have our own In-House Audiology Clinic where students receive weekly hands-on sessions and where our postgraduate students also see patients.
During the BSc Audiology for example, approximately 1/3 of your time in years one, two and four consists of clinical practicum in our Clinic, where you learn clinical skills – and practice them on each other!
For MSc and PG Dip Students, you will see a variety of patients within our own Clinic and through a local centre, giving you the opportunity to work with real pati ents under professional supervision. You will be given access to adult and paediatric cases, as well as patients with balance difficulties.
For BSc and PG Diploma students, the bulk of your clinical experience comes from the clinical placements in year three.
All student attend short external visits, arranged in local NHS audiology clinics throughout the year, giving you a chance to compare how different Audiology departments work and also observe a variety of clinics, including paediatrics and vestibular patients.
