Balance Course
Our Balance Courses are aimed at clinicians in a variety of disciplines (in particular ENT, Hearing Therapy, Audiology, Physiotherapy and Audiological Medicine). We offer two courses, which are held on alternate years at Chilworth Manor Hotel and Conference Centre, Southampton.
Advanced Level Balance Course: 16-18 June 2010
The Advanced Level Balance Course is aimed at clinicians who have a sound knowledge of vestibular assessment and management and wish to consolidate and advance their knowledge. Approximately 60 places will be available on a residential or non-residential basis.
The course incorporates group practical work and the examination of patients with specific disorders as well as exploring a variety of topics including:
- Advanced anatomy and physiology
- Advanced testing
- Advanced bedside clinical examination
- Psychological issues
- How testing helps determine therapeutic approach
- Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)
- Mechanical disorders
- Central disorders
- Rehabilitation of complex unilateral and bilateral vestibular lesions

Course Fees
The cost of Residential place is £880; it will include course notes, all meals and refreshments and accommodation at Chilworth Manor for the 16th and 17th June 2010.
The cost of a Non-Residential place costs is £680; it will include course notes, lunch and refreshments.
