Campus facilities
The University has five campuses in Southampton and one in the city of Winchester. Facilities include a range of cafés and restaurants, bars, banks and cash machines, a supermarket, bookshop, post office, travel centre, hair and beauty salon, theatre, concert hall, art gallery, cinema and nightclub.
The Institute of Sound & Vibration Research is located at our main campus at Highfield. The campus is home to an £8.5 million sports complex (with a six-lane, 25-metre swimming pool, eight badminton courts and a split-level gym with 160 fitness stations). The newly refurbished Hartley Library, one of six University libraries, has a Learning Centre equipped with the very latest technology (including high-speed Internet access, network points for laptops and a language study area).
Accommodation
The University offers around 5,200 places for students in 20 halls of residence, providing safe, highquality, professionally managed accommodation. A wide range of different accommodation is available (including catering and self-catering options), all offering excellent value for money. All rooms in Southampton halls have their own telephone and
high-speed Internet connection.

The city of Southampton is one of the top 10 retail destinations in the UK, with a wide choice of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and cultural attractions.
