The aim of this module is to give you a practical grounding in the skills necessary to present a clear and concise business report.

Module Aims

To introduce the principal concepts and applications of marketing theory and practice with an emphasis is on where and how the organisation competes, and in doing this, highlight the strategic significance of marketing.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and Understanding

Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

  • the qualities of a ‘good’ business report;
  • the planning required in writing a report.
Transferable and Generic Skills

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

  • confidently plan a report;
  • present a well-structured and concise report;
  • support your peers in class activities
Subject Specific Intellectual and Research Skills

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

  • critically evaluate business reports;
  • assess your own and your peers report planning and writing skills.

Qualities of a good report, who is your audience, report writing techniques, planning and preparation of reports.

This module will be delivered in a series of presentation and discussion sessions. Learning activities include: Small group work, Individual planning time, peer review of work.
